Not at all! After I had a little chat with Darron a few days back, I’ve 
been working on bringing the Screenweaver 3 code base up to date: I’ve 
decided to release it open source.

Under the same licence (GNU GPL) I will also release a new development 
effort called Screenweaver Core. This might be of specific interest to 
this list due to the open architecture. Read more about it here:

Flash 8 File-Upload (RC-1)

With the help of Glen Blanchard, i’ve managed to package a RC1 for the new File Upload Feature of Maelstrom (aka Flash Player .

It now features all callbacks needed for status and error handling.

Grab the Files and start playing, but be careful:
before uploading this one to your server, you should check all possibilities of misuse like you normally would do with html.

Better font readability Flash technology already enables the use of any font for text, and does not require that font to be installed on the user’s machine to display properly. It accomplishes this by converting fonts into vector graphics, which enables designers to use their choice of fonts. However, since Flash turns them into vector graphics it no longer knows they are letter shapes — this results in small fonts appearing blurry in Flash Player. Maelstrom solves this issue by including a great new font-rendering engine that enables arbitrary fonts to display crisply even at small sizes. Additional control for text layout and display has also been added, including full justification and fine adjustment of kerning.

Looks like it’s broken on the last release (8.0.0.447).

Of course you’ll need the new FP8 (8.0.0.447) for that. But beware! Before installing this one over previous one (8.0.0.443) you should run Kewbees Flash Plugin Switcher, so you can safely restore the *original*

I filed a bug to flashcoders, since this is not related to existing code, which we should carefully test.

As a new Plugin is out ( 8,0,5,0) i tested tthis again, and it seems still broken, so my guess is, they’ve changed the API.
