Problems installing Maelstrom on FF 1.04
Ok, i’m sitting here trying to install maelstrom on Firefox 1.04 getting this error ![]()
It’s a german WinXP, and it says that the certificate is blocked from download.macromedia.com.
So i tried to install it manually with this installer, restarted FF. went to macromedia.com, to check version number, and got … nothing
Obviuosly it is adBlock - an extension to firefox - which blocks maelstrom consequently. Fortunaltely you’re able to reactivate flash content, by disabling adBlock via ‘Extras->adBlock->options->enable adBlock’. Unfortunately, as you can see, this is kinda lame, cause adBlock is a real time saver for me, and i personally don’t wanna do all this "click, scroll, click, ENTER, hitF5" etc. pp. So i found some useful shortcuts, that might be more handy that the normal way. Although i would personally prefer an adBlock that wouldn’t block all my flash files …

Oh here’s what Jenny proposes to do:
"You can see flash again by unchecking Obj-Tabs in the AdBlock Options until this is fixed."
And guess what: It works

The new plugin can be installed from here.
Uninstallers not needed, if you’re on a PC just use kewbee’s Plugin Switcher

Please keep in mind that this public beta is intended to ensure compatibilty and installation testing. It isn’t designed yet to launch all the new features. Bitmap caching in a new feature. That is coming and this release of the Flash Player as more advances than any other version I can think of.
